who ever started this thread - could you please two questions...
Who are included in the 'we' in the 1st post?
What are you going to do this data?
Anyway continue the laugh ... its good for health ...
Your wife/husband/girl friend/boy friend must have already voted on the poll. Yes, this poll is that smart..no duplicates...we(dont ask who the we is) want the exact count. Apparently the exact count is very critical for watever it's intended. :)

In fairness to the OP, he/she said that "...while TSC filer are getting ead adn AP as SOON AS THEY GET RECEIPT...." (emphasis mine).
He/she didn't mean to say that NOT GETTING any receipt is good as long as you get your EAD.
No Hard Feelings...as some body said earlier Grass Is Green on Other Side..
You can't say "In-Justice" because of diff priority..NSC thought to let every body get receipt first then work on EAD's and AP's. So they are issuing those faster.
TSC is working on both parallel.
Same people they would have been on other side of situation wud have said that It's better to receive the receipt first than EAD.

Wonder why people who visit these forums often think that someone here knows how USCIS works...their updates/luds,status changes mean nothing.......until u get the card in hand it means nothing, zilch, nada, !!!!!!

You are making an assumption that an approved petition is an indication of a valid status for the entire duration of extension. This may or may not be true after the I-140 is revoked.
It is kind of dicey...If you are quick enough you can pull it off...
You can refer to some posts up above that some people have actually done it..
Especially if you are laid off you have not much to lose and try something ...
USCIS has traditionally not taken a hard line against H1B as far as I know...

Laid off 6weeks back. Attended 4 interviews. Outof luck.
I used to get many calls from desi consultants. But not now. I do not know whether it is because of economy or my EAD status.
Here are my excuses to not to get job.
1.New Father (I was little confused about how every thing goes. Thank god no set backs here)
2.Functions(I was occupied to celebrate his 21st day).
3.Taking care of new born( He needs to be feed once in every two hours. Mother got tired of this.)
4.Holiday season.
5.Economy.
6.I am good at supporting my situation :) .
Hopefully I will land some where by Jan Mid.

Should there not be a separate Green card quota for anyone with a USA Masters Degree in any field?
If USA does that, more people will pay to come to study in USA. Not go to Australia, UK etc to study. So more money to USA. And USA degree holders will be able to use this education and work in USA to improve USA economy. If they go back to their countries, then USA has brain drain.
If they have separate quota for H1, separate H1B quota for Masters Degrees, what is wrong to have one for Green Card?
Please support on this thread if you agree.
My support for those with PhD but not for MS at this point.

Any number lesser than 800,000 is good for us.. doesnt mean all is well.. we have to continue in our efforts with IV and we could have a better breakthrough..
Anything less than 800,000 is good... even a few hundred thousand less :) There's still a lot of work and patience required but a good news is a good news nevertheless.

I recently added pages to my passport in India while I was in Vaccation. It was painless process as I went through travel agent and have to pay extra money. No police verification is required if your renewing. Adding pages/renewal is all the same process.
If you apply in Tatkal, you will get your passport in a week. If you do in India, I advice you go through some travel agent.
Did not renew here as my job requires frequent travel at short notice.
If you are not travelling internationally then it is best to do it USA.
Thanks
Senthil

Basic question .. thanks for answering.
Proceedings in Judiciary Committe wil be transparent? Does IV lobby with committe also, what happens next.
Some where in the forum , some one posted (sorry I do not remember the name), that a post bill analysis will be posted. Will Post Bill Analysis , indicates what is in the Senate bill or what can we do next.

Here is the Chicago Tribune editorial on the Senate CIR bill.
The Senate's better vision
Published May 26, 2006
.............
The Senate on a 62-36 vote Thursday approved a far better plan.
...................
This issue is too important for such heavy-handed partisanship. If the House fails to compromise to get an immigration law, it will reinforce the broad public impression that this GOP-led Congress can't get anything done.
..................
Against long odds, the Senate has produced a comprehensive immigration bill that looks beyond the House's one-dimensional solution. It deserves to be considered in good faith in conference committee. Building on the lessons of 20 years of failed immigration policy, the Senate bill represents our best chance yet to finally set things right. It's time for negotiation, not noise.

Here is my guess on who will be in Conference from Senate side.

Do you know any example of I-485 got rejected after using AC21?
My lawyer says they haven't seen any case like this before. I want to make sure before I change jobs.

Absolutely. Assuming your I-140 is approved/approvable and will not be withdrawn, you will be able to AC21 to your new position after 180 days of I-485 pending. And the best thing, it will only depend on similarity of the job, and no ability to pay questions. Good luck!

1) You do not need one, unless you have no clue about any immigration system or have excess of 1000$
2) around 1000$ + appl fess + med exam fees
3) cic.gc.ca is a good place to start with keeping consultants aside.
There are threads that discussed this extensively before. Check them out.

Everybody in this forum knows this. Core IV is on top of these items and every IV member should have confidence that they will steer everyone in proper direction as and when required. Do not get panic and call for unncessary shots on this sensitive issue.
I am not sure when the CIR will pass...its not on Nancy Pelosi aganda in forseeable future... and several people already mentioned that if it didnt pass by MAY07 then you are looking at Jan 09 to get immigration stuff to happen...
I think we need to work on an interm EB relief bill ...which is absolutely non contraversial and try to pass it....not worring about piggy backing the CIR...
Issues such as h1 increase or adding more numbers need not be in it...we can include things like EAD after I-140...spouse/childer not considered for EB quota...etc...
Unless we act desissively now...its going to be a long way to 2009..

that you will attend the DC rally... I won't tell you if I got the receipt notice;)
(I filed my AOS on July 2 at TSC)
TSC has officially progressed to 6/30 so the July filers should now start receiving their receipt notices! But the question is, what do we do after we get them, or in the worst case, if our AOS got rejected? There is nothing you or I can do at this time... the deadline to re-submit is over on August 17th.
The root cause of the whole problem is retrogression & country caps, and unless we speak up about it in one voice, no one will do anything to fix that root cause!
So keep looking at the road as you drive, but also take a moment to look beyond the next 1 mile... where there is a traffic jam in which you and I will get stuck for the next 5 to 10 years... unless we do something about it.. together!
So, please take a break from tracking receipts, and decide how long you are willing to renew EADs and worry about following the complex AC21 rules & regulations. If you are like me and not willing to do that forever, then make up your mind and attend the DC rally!
If you attend the rally, you can travel to DC for free/ a fraction of the cost, please look at these threads:

Are you now on the 'undocumented immigration' thing ? Undocumented is someone who had documents, but lost them. Called them using the correct designation; illegal aliens.
Good find retropain
It seems this is one of the last and only hearings that concerns high skiiled immigrants. Most of the hearings have been focussed on undocumented immigrants and border security. Any members in this area and available on August 31?

Thanks,
I think so. I have one of my friend. His case got transfer to Texas. He filed 2 months earlier than me. He got approved already in late August.
Thanks,
Wata,
If I were you, I would rather wait atleast till Nov 2006 before converting I-140case to premium processing because as you said NSC is currently processing I-485 cases for Dec 2005 and it would take 5/6 months more from now to come to June/July 2006 to process I-485 at current pace. But Again this is my personal thought....
Moreover, in order to take advantage of AC21 portability you I-140/I-485 case has to be 6 months old. So getting I-140 approved through premium processing does no good as you would have to wait till Dec 2006 anyway for your I-140/I-485 case to become 6 months old.
Thanks,

Did you mean for EB3 ROW? One year? I am not so sure. Couple of months maybe...
With the new rule on FBI name checks, a potential 47K with current PDs could get their GS's soon. I wonder how much of a shift we will see in the PD's from now, after the 47K is not taken into account. I would predict a minimum of atleast a year jump, or am I being optimistic.
