I suspect the next iPhone, released in June, July, or September will be largely unchanged from the 4. An A5, sure. Maybe higher storage capacities. A "world" model, from what the Verizon exec said. Black or white. That's about it.My thoughts exactly.

I've personally witnessed the rather dramatic decline in Apple quality control over the last year.
It's unlike ever before and very discouraging.
Give me a break... I've heard this claim over and over and over and over for more years than I care to admit. It's as if there was once upon a time Apple released perfect products without any glitches whatsoever, but now everything they release is plagued with problems.
It's a fact... nearly every product line Apple has ever released has had its hiccups, whether it's overheating computers, faulty logic boards, problems with displays, adhesives etc etc.
You haven't witnessed any sort of dramatic decline in Apple's QC... you just like to believe that you have.

For example, if apple sold a dual 1.5 GHz 970 in addition to the current line-up for $10,000, it still wouldn't be worth $10,000 for me because that equates to ~1,170 hours of work for me. If I was a extremely well off person, and money wasn't an issue, the computer would be worth the money.
So, basically what I am saying is Apple needs to get down their prices in order to sell their high end systems to people who want them but don't have the highest paycheck.

I am looking for the full schedule for the developer conference. Specifically, I need to know when we will be done on Friday. This will help me book my tickets back to my town. Can someone help me with this? ( If there is another thread specifically about the developer conference, please point me to that as well. )
Friday is usually the miscellaneous sessions day, when the less important (or popular I might say) sessions are held. Of course you can leave whenever you want but Friday is still a full day. I would plan on staying the entire day if you can. Leaving Saturday morning is best as you can relax on Friday :)

So what I want to know from anyonewho knows is can we boot from one of the other 3 HDD's,and then, with the Quadro FX 4500, play some wicked PC games. Or are we there yet, should I just keep saving until all of the cool stuff is ready (CS3, PC games, nasty graphics capabilities).

I'll take Verizon's slower speeds and larger 3g coverage area any day. AT&T has such a small 3G footprint and Edge speeds are unbearable and unusable in many rural areas. The superior 3G technology is meaningless if you can't get coverage. CDMA coverage is far more prevalent and reliable in the US and that's important to many people, especially those who travel.
If it mattered (I bought a wifi for the wife).... I'd get a verizon ipad to go with my att iPhone4. Why... If I got verizon service only, I'd use that... If I got ATT service, I'd tether off of that and get higher speeds (in theory).
YMMV.

Yes, that's what I finally paid my $500 for: to get the head start this time around. WWDC from Australia is just a "little" too much for me.

Right now in NYC you can walk in the Apple store anytime and get the Verizon iPad. ATT models are extremely hard to find.
So how is it that Verizon is preferred???... (I know why but I'll let you guess...:))

While I wish the AppleTV supported DLNA, that's not really directly comparable to AirPlay, is it? DLNA seems to be a "pull" protocol and it seems to be more closely comparable to iTunes Home Sharing.

I'm sure that this works for a lot of people, but not me.
I travel frequently in the Adirondacks where there NO AT&T service, not even Edge. The whole concept of the ADK region is for it to remain pristine forest and mountain, unspoiled by cell towers. That concept isn't going to change without a NYS Constitutional Amendment, and that is not going to happen in our lifetime.
I think the whole point of having GPS on the iPhone is to be able to get maps as needed. Garmin is missed the boat.

It's always funny when the networks do crap like this. They have an app that's hugely popular and people like me who live in Comcast's dirty grips wish I had access to. An app that people might start watching networks LIVE (I haven't watched a show live in 10 years thanks to DVR\TIVO)... then they go pulling this crap.
So the people with the TW app went from downloading torrents and watching on Tivo which provided ZERO bang for the networks' ad dollars, to watching their ads on the mobile device, and that's not good enough? Rot in hell then, lol. Because like when the Writer's Union went on strike, shows DID replace them. Sure they're not as great, but if those shows are what non-union workers can come up with in two weeks, imagine what they could do in two months, or a year...
- FU@$ the unions and let's bring TV back the way it was intended.
- FU$@ the network companies who control the cable companies so they can't offer ala carte programming knowing that nobody is going to subscribe to G4 or OWN or Hallmark... and let me go ala carte. I'll take the locals plus 10 channels at $1 per channel per month, please.

4$ is a lot when considering the margins mfg are working under for the average consumer model (sub 1k). I just don't see why they don't give it away

Have the idiots said why exactly they want to kill Planned Parenthood? Is it because they claim most of Planned Parenthood's budget goes towards abortion, (which is not true)? I was watching Bill Mahr last night and the conservative on his panel said that originally the Tea Bagger movement claimed to be about money, budget issues, taxes. But the PP show down over the federal budget shows that they also have a social agenda.
If they are truly worried about paying for welfare, you'd think they'd be thrilled if the low income families were popping out less babies by means of contraception...
People are a nation's greatest asset. Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the government, all incoming money goes into one pot and then distributed thus some money goes towards abortions.

Its just a bit of fun.
Some kid just probably thought it would be a laugh to make a facebook group and see what happens.... and its blown up.
And I think its great, and shows the power of Joe Public and the internet.... but thats just my point of view.
Plus the group has rasied loads of money for charity which is good.
People who look at this as anything more than a bit of fun are morons.
