Adobe has introduced a competitor to Apple's SoundTrack Pro dubbed SoundBooth (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/soundbooth/).
Try Adobe� Soundbooth™. Soundbooth is a brand new application built in the spirit of Sound Edit 16 and Cool Edit that provides the tools video editors, designers, and others who do not specialize in audio need to accomplish their everyday work such as:
-Editing audio quickly.
-Cleaning up noisy audio.
-Visually identifying and removing unwanted sounds.
-Recording and polishing voiceovers.
-Adding effects and filters.
-Easily creating customized music—without musical expertise.
Similar to Adobe's LightRoom (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/01/20060109021315.shtml) application, SoundBooth is beginning its life as a public beta. Adobe is offering the software in Windows and Intel-Mac versions, and Adobe specifically mentions that they will not be offering a PowerPC version of the software.

The Euro tax bit accomplishes something, look at their cars. How many land-yachts do you see rolling about over there?
That said, we do have a gas tax, but as mentioned earlier - it's obscured by the price of oil to the point we no longer feel it. Perhaps we should bring back the sting. Before doing that, I'd say to lean out and make DPW a hell of a lot more efficient at doing their jobs, before giving them any more $.
I think it was Japan that taxed cars based on the engine displacement - I believe that would be worth considering here. For anyone who "needs" a big engine - and 98% of you who claim you do - actually do not. But for those who insist - should have a commercial-type registration. (like we currently do with large work vehicles) That said - we were lax, stupid or I don't know what - but allowed 4 ton vehicles to be called passenger cars, and now every 90 pound soccer mom drives a Superduty pickup because it makes them feel safe... :rolleyes:

I called my local verizon store. girl told me she would only sell an original ipad bundled with their mifi. Forget it.
They tried to sell the mifi to me as well, along with cases, keyboard, etc. I just told them I was going to tether, and got, "well you know you have to pay for that." They funny thing is that I have an AT&T iphone, so why would she care.
Verizon clearly lists the price of the unit without the mifi, so the girl was trying to strong arm you into something to help her sales.

I really don't get why people who come up with specs don't think ahead. When SD came out it has a 2GB limit. So they updated it, SDHC for a 32GB limit. Now they had to update it again, SDXC for a 2TB limit. They should have just designed the format to scale in the FIRST place.
For example: CompactFlash came out in like 1994 and has scaled all the way up to like 137GB, when the first cards were under 1MB.
Yeah, they scaled just fine when it came to sizes. But instead they are at like the 6:th revision when it comes to speed capabilities.

One biggie is an enhancement, as opposed to a fix. Outlook can now sync w/iCal. This was present in Entourage, but was dropped from the initial release of Outlook.
Too bad this wasn't released a couple of weeks ago. I could have saved some struggles for my boss who we moved from Windows/Outlook to OS X/Mail/iCal.

Not to mention when dealing with these types of cases, discrimination is not generally proved in hiring cases with evidence from a single case, but rather over a whole set of applicants.
Just look at the Walmart case for a good example of how these things are proven. There, it wasn't just that one woman didn't get a promotion, but that there was clear evidence of policies and practices that promoted men and not otherwise equivelent women.

There is NO way Vzw is outselling AT&T version, NO way, it's impossible.

Exactly - enlighten us. How do you know why its marketshare has increased as of late? Neither me nor freeny claim that its SOLELY because of the ads - but how can you prove that the ads haven't convinced 1 single switcher...?
I'm not claiming to say that these ads have hurt or helped boost the market shares...I'm only saying that I have only heard negative things about them.
I feel embarrassed watching them.
I personally believe that the market share has risen because of the intel switch. The ads happened to come out at the same time so it's impossible to know how they've affected the market share, but either way I really don't like them. It's not the actors either... definitely the elitist script.
I like that Shaun White ad where he narrates what he does with his computer and this stunt guy (you can only see his torso) is reaching and grabbing at nothing that was edited later to appear as if what he was grabbing at were his folders/documents/songs/etc... Pretty clever. And no snobbishness (yeah that word rocks) either.

Always good to see more options. But my Android friends relying on Google navigation find themselves up a creek due to this same issue of network dependence. While my pre-stored Navigon MyRegion for iPhone keeps on navigating! 3G has small dead spots even in major cities, and that’s enough to miss a turn.
In fact, my old iPhone 3G that doesn’t even have phone service anymore still works great as an in-car voice-guided GPS with Navigon. (Just don’t put it into airplane mode—that saves power but seems to shut down the GPS as well as the other radios.)
MyRegion is cheap (it’s regional but upgradable) and it even goes on sale sometimes—I’m really happy with it. Very slick iOS UI, but in a non-distracting black-and-brown. (Unlike the cluttered, garish UI that Garmin app seems to have.) And it multitasks nicely with Pandora AND any other GPS app I want! Sometimes I run Navigon MyRegion in the background for the voice guidance, while Google Earth is in the foreground showing me the real photographic landscape. Two GPS apps running at once can be the best of both worlds :)

It is possible, but I would not recomend it if you are at all impatient. If you can, just burn her data onto CDs. Windows 98 has pretty poor networking and it is also very slow. There is a utility called DAVE by Thursby software that will help you. I believe they have an evaluation version that works for a month (long enough for you to do your job). Also, you will need a hub or a crossover ethernet cable.

its interesting that every intel mac so far, other than the mac mini, has needed a SMC update (if my memory serves me correctly).
It's even more strange that all of them seemed to become louder after the update. How lucky for Apple that all the reviews mentioning the Intel-Macs' exceptional silentness had already been written by then, eh? ;-)

I agree with some previous posts but I'll expand upon them...
If Apple infringed, they should pay, but the better alternative would be to buy Kodak, slowly shut them down (they're already slowly shutting down), then make RIM pay Apple! HAHA!
And in the process, Apple gets tons of patents, plus they can once again sell Apple branded printers and digital cameras again, something they haven't done for quite some time. The original Apple digital cameras were made by Kodak anyway. Then Apple could drop some other brands from Apple Stores and keep almost the entire purchase an all-Apple purchase.

Again, have your actually seen this "choppiness" on that $2000 machine with the brand new OS? Now for the issue of MHz, browse the web sites of the expensive UNIX workstations and servers. Look at the clock speeds of the offerings from IBM, HP, SGI, and Sun. For the most part, you will see that their machines have clock speeds in the sub-GHz range. Yet these are the machines of choice when price is no object and the job must get done. Just think about this: these boards are filled with laments that effectively tell you that you need substaintially higher clock speeds to run a computer game than you need to simulate the gas flow in a jet engine. Don't you think that something is just a bit warped here?

The reason they are used is for this feature alone - and yepI would rather run my simulations on a sparc box than a pc, although the cost of a cheap linux box is pushing us down that route.
