At this point, I will believe it when I see it. I think that the only thing all these Darn rumors say is how much everyone in general would love an apple phone. Done right, an iphone could easily replace most peoples phones and ipods. Add into that the possibility of home on ipod and WiFi, and I see a winner. But this is all speculation... ill belive it when i see it
My personal dream phone would be simple yet packed:
sleek flip phone, simple design, WiFi and Video chat capable
I think this would really push forward communication, and make video chat a real thing. imagine if people were also using their phones at home with iChat for windows. apple sells ichat forthe PC as well, and everyone intercommunicates flawlessly where ever they are. Kind of like waht the ipod did for music the iphone could do for communication

For what it is worth I plan on TRYING to write lab reports with Pages this quarter. We'll see how they go. But I'll make a template of the basic report and just Change thing in it to make them unique. I think it should work.

Cool, more software is a good thing. No support for PowerPC users is just unfair, though. :( Oh well, I have no interest in it anyway. Now if it was Photoshop CS3... then I'd be pissed! :p

Why wait outdoors (Knox) when you can wait indoors (Northpark)?

It is supposed to be a high of 70 and sunny all day friday, why wouldn't someone want to spend some time outside with that nice of weather.

Not to mention when dealing with these types of cases, discrimination is not generally proved in hiring cases with evidence from a single case, but rather over a whole set of applicants.

Just look at the Walmart case for a good example of how these things are proven. There, it wasn't just that one woman didn't get a promotion, but that there was clear evidence of policies and practices that promoted men and not otherwise equivelent women.

What I'm curious about is why blindly (for a lot of people) support a very successful band, wouldn't this have been a really nice little story if people rallied to buy a track from a smaller/upcoming band? Or maybe a real charity single or for something more deserving, like them soldier blokes or whoever.

Good points, but I think you're knit-picking. A smaller and more unknown song from a smaller and more unknown band wouldn't have had the same impact. Nearly everyone has heard of RATM, and I think that's what essentially sold it. The song, band and cause, all being about rebellion.

We've tried what you said before with something called Band Aid. The first time it was rather good and useful. The second time it sucked. The Americans also tried it and it sucked as well.

I think giving money to shelter is a very good thing to do. I'd certainly hate to be spending xmas alone on the streets, especially in this weather. Soldiers have a job, and it is their choice they wanted to join the army. By all means, they should get all the help needed, but I believe helping the homeless is much more kinder. Please don't shoot me down for that, I fully respect the troops fighting for us abroad, but it was their choice to do that, where as, being homeless, isn't.

    2nd video at 1:35 (iOS 4.0 8A216) confirmed http://twitpic.com/4mtg8k

Looks just like HTC Sense's Leap. Maybe HTC should be an ass like Apple and sue Apple for slavishly copying HTC's Sense UI.

As the saying goes at Apple: "If you can't beat'em, dual'em"

I say whatever it takes to keep up. Doesn't bother me that there are two CPU's under the hood. Anyways I am sure that OS X is way more optimized for dual Processors than Windows 2000 or XP. Having OS X far outways the slight difference in hardware performance. OS X is specifically designed for Macs, and optimized to take full advantage of the hardware. No one that has a Dell, Compaq, Gateway...etc... can say the same thing about Windows. The only way that would happen is if Microsoft came out with a special Intel version of Windows or AMD version. Never gonna happen. I know most of you already know this but I just thought I'd throw it out there again.

I totally agree. Why anyone would hold out for that color and why Apple spent so much time trying to get that white paint to work properly is beyond me.

It won't be beyond you once you see how fast it sells. ;)

Who cares??? its a $500 device that can replace all computer needs of any student. Period.

    HAHA!

    Any student? No. Just No.

Please engage some sort of thought process before you make statements as ludicrous as this.

I read somewhere awhile back that this same technology was in passports and and licenses and was very easy to read the information and hack in to the chip with some sort of device you can purchase or make from your local radio shack like a frequency scan tool like back in the old days with car alarms with code hopping technology! interesting video check out the whole vid the rfid part starts at 6:20sec. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXo

While I wish the AppleTV supported DLNA, that's not really directly comparable to AirPlay, is it? DLNA seems to be a "pull" protocol and it seems to be more closely comparable to iTunes Home Sharing.

AirPlay is more of a "push" protocol.

No, it doesn't. The line-in port does not supply power for a microphone.

Which line in port? Are you talking about the (now removed) line-in on the 30 pin connector (not on iPhone 4) or are you talking about the second ring on the TRRS headphone/mic connector?

I just activated my first iPhone (white) a few hours ago on VZW. The clear Incase Snap Case I bought for it a week ahead of time DOES NOT FIT...no matter how hard I try. It seems the white lip is bigger than the black lip, and this is the part the snap case secures to. Anyone else find this?

My mom is buying a new iMac 17" soon, and I was wondering how I would get the files from her Windows 98 machine to the iMac via Ethernet, because she doesn't have a burner. Would it be the same as networking to Macs, or would it require special software?

    Well, this is confusing.

Last year Macrumors posters told me in no uncertain terms that CR is always wrong.

So how am I supposed to take this news?
    It's up to you.

It's like addressing any other reviewer: boors, cars, movies, restaurants, music, electronics, clothing, whatever. You decide yourself if a particular reviewer's voice rings true to you.

Some people read the New York Times' book reviews and pay care attention to Michiko Kakutani. Others couldn't care less.

A lot of people here have a problem with the way CR conducts their reviews. That's fine. Others trust their judgment. Replace "CR" with Engadget, Gizmodo, David Pogue, Walter Mossberg, Anandtech, etc. Same deal.

We can't tell you how to feel about this news. You have to figure it out yourself.
