What exactly (specifically) is your worry?
The fact that I can not opt out. That it tracking me no matter were I go and I do not get a choice in the matter.
On top of that the more services that do this the more likely that it will be stolen as it already been shown Apple way of doing it is craptature as it is not even encrypted compared to Googles which is.
This makes it very easy to steal. I know the cell phone company do it and when a hole was found in their system and it was reported to them they were very quick to plug it (got that little bit from NPR today) and I do not believe they are selling off the information to advertisers.
It more I want to know what info is collect and what is done with it and also the option to opt out. Now would I chances are no I would not opt out depending on what it is. I trust Google to be more honest and open than I trust Apple to do but not like I trust Google that much in that department biggest difference is Google will be more up front about it. Apple will not say a thing about it.
My guess Apple is collecting this information for iAd which seems to link up with when iAds was launched.

Licensing out your OS to anyone that can slam together a box and unloading product via the likes of ZTE and cheap Asian outfits (i.e., the "other" category) is hardly impressive.
Note that Google only counts activations of devices with Google services. They're not counting all the "cheap Asian" Android devices from companies that haven't licensed those pieces from Google.
As for ZTE, they have some of the most popular phones in Europe right now, because they're both usable and affordable.

What about the absolutely peaceful Muslims brutally attacked out of nowhere by rapacious imperialist crusaders who wanted to savagely impose their religion upon the tolerant and free society?
indeed, when everyone knows the pope was really trying to reconquer territory controlled by the eastern church :p

and then there will be numerous viruses for the mac that will be unleashed into the wild.
and then norton will have numerous profits from mac viruses, along with windows viruses.
the two bad news i'm worried most from this.
aside from that, means more games , and software support along with hardware support should be increasing as well which are good.
it seems that most of the profits came from college students and travelers, as hh has noted. i thought the imac had strong sales, but it's easy to see why the notebook familly has such good sales.
oh, and i hope the laptops won't get any thinner. apple's having a big problem with cooling their laptops already. it's not worth having so much problems by cutting a few mms off the height.
Yes, the common belief is that the only reason Apple, Unix, Linux is spared from viruses is because of their market share. Quite frankly, I am not buying that. There would be more notoriety in being the first to exploit the Fort Knox of virus security. There is a good reason these systems are hard to crack, and Unix people know this. Your average pimply-faced little prick does not have the wherewithal to defeat a Unix system. By the time they can figure it out, they usually have jobs and 401K's. Of course, this does not account for the professional virus/malware creators who work for Norton, McAfee, and the rest. After all, there is no reason to buy their products, if there is no need to do so. None of them have been caught, so it is just 'conspiracy theory'. Eventually, one of their 'black ops' folk will realize the incredible wealth, and fame to be gained by exposing this. It will come out.

This was one of those 'always asked for but always denied for good reasons' features that everyone's been asking for. I guess now we get to find out if those fears come to light.
One thing though: we can't 'unvote'? I'm not familiar with other site's implementations so I'm not sure how it's done.

Methinks you don't have a good grasp of public key encryption. (Or at least how it's supposed to work).
It seems that you got encryption and decryption mixed up.

I don't think so... They skipped iPhone 2 and iPhone 3 and went right to "iPhone 4" because it was the 4th generation. Why wouldn't they call it iPhone 6 if it's the 6th generation?
Because its Apple, and that is what they will do. Trust me, Ive seen the future

$4,000 for a TV? Quoting an commercial for Circuit City or Best Buy(?) when asking people about "HD", one of the answers was "Wicked expensive...."
Just about any major electronics purchase at CC or BB is "wicked expensive". They're both known for listing large ticket items higher than MSRP. I paid $3600 for a new 71" Samsung from an authorized deal with white-glove delivery, they even called me a week later to see if I was still happy with it or if I wanted to swap it for something else. BestBuy wanted over $5K for a two year old 73" Mitsubishi or nearly $6200 for the same Samsung set I bought (price included delivery - ooooooh). MSRP on that 71" Samsung is $4,499. Where does BB (or rather the Magnolia Center in BB) get off charging a $1,200 premium over MSRP? ...Should be a law against that.
...But then again, other than the occasional DVD or small purchase I never shop there. It just gives me that sick to the stomach feeling knowing I'm buying something from a place that charges $100 for a $5 cable on a daily basis.
But the general consumer is oblivious to most of this. They don't understand the products, let alone whether or not they're getting a fair deal. ...Sad, really.

I believe that an airport extreme, or 802.11g is plenty fast to stream High-def Video
It's not. You need wireless USB for that. 802.11g would need a sizeable buffer and then it's not technically streaming.

Apples Releases its 3Q numbers after the market close this Wednesday. There have been many times where Jobs has used blow out earnings announcements to launch new products in tandem. I wouldnt be surprised if they launched the video/wireless during their earnings call on Wed.
But when have thhey ever announced new products on a wednesday? Except after a long weekend? (C2D iMac) If anything it will be 10/24. (Mac Expo London, and a Tuesday)

I was again expecting John Mayer being a huge Apple fan boy and all. I bet he reads MacRumors when he's not hooking up with Hollywood starlets and hanging out with rappers. ;)
P.S. Kanye West is a no talent ass-clown but at least he is trying to do something positive by calling Bush out.

It's a bit deeper then that though, he says
******* the police that's how we treat 'em
we buy our way out of jail, but we can't buy freedom
He's not just saying F the police just because they're the police.
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me)
The only thing that I pray is that me feet don't fail me now
(Jesus Walks)
And I don't think there is nothing I can do now to right my wrongs
(Jesus Walks with me)
I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long
Did i miss something? Sounds like someone doesn't pay attention to their own music.
