I work in south Florida. My employer is seriously involved in helping the people. They got a blood bank here and requested to donate. Even though I never did before, I thought it is much required now as I see many people are in the hospitals. They were even collecting the red blood cells sending plasma back in to the donor. This is done by some machine. But that was a bit painful and time consuming, I preferred to donate blood the tradition way. Money is collected by few employees on behalf of red cross and few other charities. So employees got some cakes, buns and you buy a piece for $10 or $20. Not only that we can donate our old usable clothing, blankets.

While I was travelling from India to USA, I was waiting at one of the airports in USA for my connection. An airlines staff asked for my passport and by mistake pulled away my
I-94 from from it. May be I was mistaken with the other passengers that
might be travelling out side US. The officer looked at my boarding pass for the next flight
(which was for the flight going to a city in USA), however, he didnt realized and by mistake he took away I-94 from
my passport (he was doing that for other passengers too so I thought it was part of the process).
I didnt knew that it needs to be preserved till I leave the USA. I know that in case of lost/stolen I-94 I need to file I-102. However, I doubt that in my case it might have reached the USCIS.
Please help me. I am very much worried.

Hi,
I called up and spoke to the IO and asked him about the rejection of I-485 due to old fees and he defended that the application would be rejected without the new fee, I tried to explain him about the July bulletin 107 and that people who were on employment based category and whose dates were current should have used only the OLD FEES till August 17th, he did not agree about it and I did not force the issue!
If the IO officers don't agree about the right facts how would the people who just check the fee! I am sure that is why my application was rejected!
I am not sure what to do! Can somebody suggest anything!
How to let those people know that when we applied in August there was a bulletin which said that we can apply with old fee!

All payroll summaries (W-2 ) evidencing wages paid since you began work in H-1B status.
I came to US on 2006 feb, the attorney is submitting my W2s on Monday. But my 2006 W2 is not good i have only 20K on 2006 W2, 2007 and 2008 W2S are good.
As my 2006 W2 is not good , does it effect my H1B transfer.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Even with all pending I485s, USICS will not be able to predict yearly usuage or forward date movement with 10%-15% unpredictability or delay in FBI name-check. I expect upto 10% loss of annual visas every year.
It remains to be seen how many visas are lost in FY 2007 even though they say "Unavailable". I expect them to return those allocated visas to DOS for which they thought FBI checks will be over shortly. I am sure these visas will be lost yet again.

First, as a fellow engineer, I'll say that is no handicap to photography.
At the moment I took the shot, I was searching out textured and detailed objects to show me what the 100 Macro lens would be capable of resolving.
So, the left brain was hard at work being analytical and logical.
On another level, the structure brought back childhood memories of my grandparents' farmhouse.
On yet another level, I was facinated by all the small details - mortar, wrought iron fence, and the leaves turning colors.
Generally, these sorts of images are what I connect with, the ones that I can't quite (or at least instantly) figure out what I'm looking at. Is this a wall, a sculpture, are those windows or doorways am I inside looking out or outside looking in.
It's also worth noting that there is no trace of the "rule of thirds" in that image.
Much of the above applies to this one, which I put online this evening:

Thank you all for the advise. I used Photo shop to adjust required size and pixels. As I shrunk to less than 62.5kb, it won't 240 x 320.. became smaller. anyway, I could send it...

Part time worker but a full time student - all on a part time H1 visa? I have talked to one lawyer and a couple of admissions officers. They all say that it should be OK (but they are not crazy about it) but I want to talk to someone that actually did it.
Is anyone out there like that??? Thanks!!

Don't get discouraged, Lee. Sensor dust is part of the game, and we all have to deal with it.
If you haven't read about it yet, the generally accepted way to "see" the dust is to take a shot of a non-textured light object (I use the ceiling, or a clear sky). Put it in manual, set to a low iso, stop the aperture down to f/16 or even more, adjust ss for proper exposure (may be several seconds, but no problem if you are shooting a texture-less target.) Then you can zoom way in on the image and scout around to see the crud. This is a good way to check after you clean to see if you really got it all.
When cleaning, always try the least intrusive method first. I try the blower several times first. If there is still stuff left, I go in with the arctic butterfly. If there is still junk in the same spot after several passes, it is likely stuck there and I go after it with the lens pen. If it is not in the same spot, it is not stuck, so I keep after it with the brush followed by the blower.

There is a lot of confusion on this topic - not just on the forums but even among practicing immigration lawyers. Bottom line is there is no clear cut wording in any USCIS rule or memo regarding this particular situation so it's open to interpretation. If your attorney is conservative in interpretation s/he will say use of EAD for any job would void H1B. Others say as long as you do not use EAD for the primary Job for which you have the approved H1B its okay to use EAD for other jobs. My own lawyer is in the later camp - the camp which believes use of EAD for secondary jobs does not constitute violation of H1B terms as long as you continue to work for the H1B sponsoring employer for full time. He is immigration attorney for a very big and prominent high tech company.
Pick one lawyer who you are comfortable with and believe in and do as s/he says. Bad news is anything short of USCIS clarification/memo on this will not end this debate conclusively.
