No. Both times it was a large company (one has an agreement with a big law firm to handle immigration-related issues). I asked my current employer's attorney about it and she told me not to worry, they never had issues with AC21 portability (employer has 120,000+ employees). She was right regarding my case.

Thanks all for your kind assistance.
After consulting with another owner of a D-100 (which I accidently met on the street) it seems that the problem is indeed power source related.
I do a six normal batteries and when I replaced it all went well.
One more thing.
Do u guys know a 4gb memory cerd (Hitachi's). The camera display is different when I use this card and an original (much smaller) one.
When using the 4gb card I can't see the number of photos left. Is this normal?
Is the card infected with some virus? Or maybe I received some cheap used card ?

Too early for this thread. Only you could see NO. Is there anyway to create a poll to change from No to YES when the checks are cleared. Then this will be useful, otherwise it is going to be a waste thread in next two days.

Good idea. Now, how do we show that we are starving? Wont it be considered advantageous (healthwise) for many of us to starve? These days starving is not considered a self punishment but rather a therapy. I would suggest 'one day over eating-junk food' right in the front of the capitol would be better. In the US, I have noticed that most workers probably get a cofee in the morning, a pack of potatoe fries+coke for lunch and then eat heavily after 5PM. Thats very close to what you are proposing. Holding packards like "we skipped coke and lays today. now you better solve our problem".

My PD is Feb 2002, EB2 and 485 ND: 06/15/2007
I renewed my EAD last month believing that it may trigger GC approval.
Today i received my EAD renewal for 2 years. Expiry date is July 25, 2010
Having oldest PD and receiving 2 yrs EAD, is it a good sign or bad? Please let me know.

And why does your public profile say Labor Approval Date: 05/10/2005 where as in your post you say PD is Feb 2002.

Both the company C and company A was owned by one person. So even i was working with the company C, my payroll was under Company A. Right after I received my labor certificate from Company A, my lawyer suggested my transfer my H1b from Company C to company A. Then i received my h1b approval for company A in Jan 2007 to October 2008.

1. I have my I-140 approved, applied for I-485 and have EAD/AP
2. Spouse has her own H1-B, and applied for I-485, based on my I-140, and has EAD/AP
3. Both have 6 years of H1-B expiring later this year (both from different companies)
I can extend my H1-B based on pending applications.
QUESTION 1: Can my wife extend her H1-B (beyond 6th year) based on her pending I-485?

I recently booked tickets for my parents through Travel center NY. Their prices were good and they accept visa, mastercard and amex. Since it was a E-Ticket the ticket is issued only after successful transaction. Let me know if you need more details.

If a transaction is successfully made with "Verified by Visa", or "MasterCard� SecureCode�", the cardholder will not be required to present the physical card used for verification.
I understand that if the cardholder fails to present the physical card originally used for booking transaction, the carrier reserves the right to -
Deny boarding, or
Collect a guarantee payment (in cash or from a new credit card).

The only diff b/w these illegals vs legals is education. These illegals r uneducated and dont fear law and can go to any extent as opposed to legals who're well educated. At the same time, the Tri-valley situation brings to the fore the credibility of educated indians too!!! All those students came to US "legally" but started violating the law from the word GO by working at Gas stations, Mc Donalds etc...to make ends meet. Infact some even got in very well knowing that it was not completely legal as the guy from the university who was bringing ppl was a desi who worked for the university and forged fake documents for the students.
Overall, the Indian immigrant's image is at stake right now and this might lead to enforcing new laws against legal immigrants (read scrutiny, queries etc...)

Hi,
If you are entering Unites States now on H1B then, you should get 3 Years, I think as per law you do not have to extend your visa after 2.5 months. Please discuss this with your company Attorney (Lawyer) regarding this. because if one takes vacation days on H1B that is not counted on 3 years of H1B so I think you can demand 3 years in stead of extending. because of the administrative mess USCIS does why one suffer?

It�s been long since I got head ache..but today I had every reason to get.
I tried taking an appointment for h1B for December. Here is my experience�
1. After entering the receipt details it took me to available dates calendar. In this screen there was no option to pick an specific date for appointment. This screen was same as the screen we get when we check for available date without entering receipt number.
2. I pressed �Continue� and it later took me to DS156.
3. Filled the form and it took me to screen which displayed my name against a check box with 3 option. The screen says..�select the form to edit/complete..� 3 options I can see are DS156,DS157 and petition details. No matter how many times I edit the information I can�t get the choice to pick the appointment date. Basically I have filled up the form without knowing the appointment date.
4. If I try to download the appointment letter it says..�You cannot download until you specify courier address��.
Has anyone experience similar problem�?? Any work around�.??
Any help is greatly appreciated�thanks in advance�

When My immigration came through, my family and I all flew down by air, stamped ourselves as Landed Immigrants and then came back to states.
You will have to give somebody's address at the airport and also apply for your PR card before you come back to states. Once you get your PR card then you are free to travel even by road passing the border post otherwise without the PR card you will have to apply for a visa every time you go to Canada. The PR card will be posted to the that somebody's house so that person can post it to the US. I am a landed immigrant since Feb 2005 but still live in states.
To maintain the PR status you have to be the country for 2 years.

If you ask " Why Am I responsible for low media attention?" My answer is each and every Legal Skilled Immigrant is responsible for this. We are a tribe who do not believe in shouting on the roads. We think this is cheap!
Trust me, this is not being done in any cheap manner. It is not cheap to ask what you deserve. It is not cheap to express one's opinion in a diginified manner not offending anyone. It is not cheap to explain your problems to your lawmaker.
If you think that participating in this rally is cheap and only uneducated would shout on the roads, then come to DC to witness PhDs, MBAs, PMPs, CPAs, Attorneys and some of the brightest and the best minds shout at the top of their voice to fix the broken immigration system.
Sounds unbelievable, come, witness it for yourself on Sept 18th at Washington Monument.

I have been a silent follower of IV for more than a year but this is my first post so be kind :)
I am a full time employee. My 140 was approved in Jan 2008 and I am one of those who missed the July'07 fiasco (as you can see from my PD :().
I am being given an opportunity to join another team in my company. I do not want to impact the GC process but do not want to let go of this opportunity.
The other team is ready to replicate my roles and responsibilities as per my PERM and give me a similar title. My company lawyer believes that this would be the best approach and would not hamper my existing PERM and I140 and I would not have to restart my GC process.
I am reaching out to the collective knowledge base of the IV community for their insights/inputs/comments and red flags to watch out for.
