I think it does, all other manufactures are spitting out models every month and Apple has two models that they sell every year and they sell more then these other manufactures. Why change that? Can Apple succeeded at selling more models when nobody else can?
Okay, is this rumour stating that Apple will be spitting out new models every month? No.
It'll be a yearly cycle. iPhone Nano, iPhone Classic, iPhone XL or something.
Apple offers more than one size of laptop, iMac and iPods. Seems to work well right?

I checked the update pace for Mac OS X 10.4.
29/04/2005: 10.4.0
17/05/2005: 10.4.1 (+ 18 days)
12/07/2005: 10.4.2 (+ 26 days)
31/10/2005: 10.4.3 (+ 111 days)
11/01/2006: 10.4.4 (+ 72 days)
14/02/2006: 10.4.5 (+ 34 days)
03/04/2006: 10.4.6 (+ 48 days)
27/06/2006: 10.4.7 (+ 85 days)
27/09/2006 (today) + 92 days
Soon we'll have 10.4.8, and then probably around 3 months later 10.4.9 (January?). I doubt Apple will release 10.4.10, they could but I don't think they ever did it with another OS.
I thought first that it could mean that Leopard would be early, but I don't think so (spring 2007 is March 21 - June 21).They Can Aways Resort To 10.4.9.1, 10.4.9.2 Etc.

It took a "research firm" to figure this out? I don't know why people were expecting Verizon to get it before T-mobile. All carriers will get it eventually but it makes only sense that the one also using the GSM network will get it first.

Can't they just improve the button itself?
I know this is is a prototype so I'm now worried about this nonsense, but it does bring up an important issue.
The button on the iOS devices has never been updated or improved.
Its too small, it is easily damaged, and the clicking action is pretty weak.
There is a lot of room for improvement

They should post a policy and ****ing stick to it, no special cases or exceptions.. NONE of this "because we felt like it" ********.
They need to post EVERY SINGLE REQUIREMENT in plain language and say explicitly which of the published policies the app did not meet and give an explanation as to why.
This kind of stuff is nothing but bad press for them, especially with all of the public backpedaling they've been doing when they reject someone with the attention of the media.
Also, They should not be able to deny developers access to certain APIs in order to keep their own products more competitive. (pinch to expand for that photo app that got rejected, in-app brightness control, etc.)
If Apple can't compete on their own programming and design merits, then they shouldn't be releasing applications in the store.

I thought I would like the push for this, but I actually find it annoying. I have updates sent to me via text messaging and I think I like that better. At least I can turn it off if I don't like it which is nice.

DVD's are obviously pretty profitable or they wouldnt bother selling them, so what they are saying is if the movie companies let Apple sell movies they are gonna cut off their noses to spite their face and pull a really profitable sales line? I dont think so - ********* idiots.
Actually not really. I use to sell them in my store.
I'm sure they get a better deal then us but not that much better.
Normal DVD retail is like this.
DVD normal sells $24.95
DVD wholesale would be around $19.95
If I bought a case I would get them for $16.95.
This doesn't help when Best Buy and Target and Wal-Mart sell them at 19.95 for the very first week! I'm lucky if I make 5 bucks on DVD sales...then factor in shipping costs of the DVD's.
Selling DVD's is like selling comic books...you have to sell massive amounts of them to make any kind of money.
I figure Target and Wal-Mart make around 3-5 bucks on each DVD they sell.
Some folks ask us to match Wal-Marts and Targets and Best Buy pricing...but we can't normally. We can't even make any money of them now.
I once had a DVD for sale. It was priced at 24.95. I paid 19.95 for it. I marked it down to 20.95..to move it. Guy comes in to tell me Best Buy sells the same DVD for 14.99!

I wouldn't necessarily call concentrating on one thing a fixation, and even if it is, who cares? If you're constantly photographing what you enjoy, eventually you see more and more details to express through your photographs. Just enjoy! And share!
I agree, I think staying focused on a concept enables you see your progression and improvement - and you're enjoying yourself.
After that branch onto another concept, or combine concepts to form something new and different.
Get lost in the world of gear. Spend your time reading about the specs of forthcoming cameras and lenses, instead of actually taking pics. Denigrate the gear you have; fantasise about a fancier camera. That would make you a better photographer, surely? ;)
Surely the sheer fright from the sound of a machine-gun with oversize barrel (and a red ring of course ;) ) is enough to worry even the most veteran of photographers ;) :p
All in good fun :-)

Everyone has lost interest in doing this kind of thing I guess. Maybe when they removed the screensaver, for good reasons, it wasn't as interesting for some people. Upgrading to new clients can be a hassle.
I think if the stats were more interesting, I would like to have a better way to see how I'm doing against people on other teams.
Kakaostats may go by the wayside, he doesn't have individual stats anymore and the rest of his stats are questionable because of some bug.:(

Don't know if she's getting the machine from an Apple Store, but if so, they're MORE than happy to perform the data transfer.:)
(there is, I believe, a reasonable cost involved)

I wonder what the IO performance of the reader is and what a 64GB drive might manage.
Be nice if the I/O was good enough to feed DVD/HD video. I'm thinking hard about a new Mini for my HTPC and since my media is on a 2TB FW800 drive - being able to store it on a card, instead, would be sweet. :D
(And yes, I am sure such a 2TB card, if and when it ships, would be significantly expensive).
